Homesession Residency

HOMESESSION PROJECT

The project is conceived as an open dialogue between a private place and the artistic creation, thanks to different programmes and initiatives. "homesession" is a permanent investigation on the relation between intimacy and the artistic process, from the artistic creation to the exhibition and the public diffusion:

- it focuses on this relation through diffusion, public events and exhibitions

- it gives a special emphasis on the role of the context in the artistic production and encourages site-specific creation

Our goals: we want to encourage creation in visual arts, video, performance and involve artists as well as other partners in a very exciting exchange, with a real diversity of cultural and artistic approaches.

HOMESESSION RESIDENCY: AN AIR PROGRAM IN BARCELONA FOR EMERGING ARTISTS

We propose an artist residency in Barcelona, on a short period (till one month) for emerging artists. The use of a private flat for such a program stands for the tension between this specific place and the public space. The residency is located in the center of Barcelona and takes place in a loft shared with its owners, offering the artist a unique opportunity to be accompanied during its stay and to nurture its creation through a challenging experience. We want to offer to the artists the possibility to be deeply immersed in the local life.

For each residency, an event is organized for a public presentation (the format may be an artist talk, an installation, a projection etc.).

INVITED-ONE-DAY: A SITE-SPECIFIC CREATION PROGRAM

homesession's name refers to artistic events produced in a private place. It refers to an approach that would take into consideration the specific characteristics of the place.

Invited-One-Day is a creation program that aims at supporting site-specific works: it consists in an experience led by an artist, who's litterally "invited one day" in a private flat. It leaves room for experimentation and a dialogue with the place.
